Bowerbox Press is owned and operated by Val Lucas, a graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art. Lucas rescued a 1901 Colt's Armory letterpress from a basement in Baltimore and, after two months of cleaning and restoration, began printing woodcuts, cards, and custom work. She also creates unique handmade books using found objects and maps. Items from Bowerbox Press can be found locally at Red Tree, on her Etsy page, and at Baltimore-area art and craft shows.
